Why oh why is Obama still blaming Republicans? For that matter, why is he still blaming Bush? Seems he just can’t make a speech without passing the buck in one way or another. In a recent address to a Michigan crowd he asserted that he was ready to take on the state of the economy, we could let him have it he says, even if it was Bush’s fault it was in such bad shape. I guess he doesn’t really want to take responsibility after all. In tonight’s speech on health care reform, he’s once again blaming Bush for the 1.8 trillion dollar deficit he inherited, only this time it was the Medicare prescription bill that did the damage. Problem is, Obama left out the fact that he immediately increased the deficit four times over the minute he got in office. Now, how can he blame that on Bush? Did Bush fly up from Texas and wrangle him into it? Say it isn’t so, Joe.
Obama’s reference to Bush, the deficit and the Medicare prescription plan can only be described as a desperate ploy to distance himself from the mistakes his administration has already made. Mistakes including the massive deficit, the failed bailouts, the unpopular takeover of the auto industry, the catering to the financial sector, the incessant lies and the campaign promises that he has consistently failed to deliver on. Obama’s popularity is slipping and people are losing their faith in his policies, he has to get the American people to identify the current state of the economy with the disillusionment they felt about the previous administration. Why else would he bring up a medicare bill that is six years old?
Anyone who has been following this issue knows that the bill is not being held up by reluctant Republicans. The bill itself hasn’t come to a clear consensus from either party and right now, there are a fair share of blue dog Democrats who are seriously unhappy with what has been put on the table. If Obama wants to complain about his little pet project being held up in the House, he need look no further than his own party.
Obama claims that government can handle this issue, yet there is no precedent at any level of government that they can. Obama claims that tax payers are not getting a good deal and he wants to narrow the waste on the front end, but has he made any promises about controlling taxes on the back end? Remember, they are talking about making health care mandatory here, we can’t opt out. If they pass this we are stuck. So why the big rush? Obama himself admitted that he has not even seen the finance committee’s draft of the bill, yet he still claims that this bill is good for the country.
I’m sorry, but what is that? I haven’t seen it, but I know its good? Yeah, kinda like I promise there will be no pork in stimulus.
I haven’t seen it, but I know its good, I swear I’ll only tax the rich, don’t blame me it’s Bush’s fault we’re here anyway……
Hmmm, let me be clear, somewhere in D.C. I can hear a pig squealing…………

I hope the bill dies. If it doesn’t, it would be nice if the politicians had to have the same heathcare as everyone else. Bet they wouldn’t want gov healthcare either.
I agree, If they are going to force us to have an HMO than they should have one to. From what I am hearing they want everyone to have equally bad access to health care- rather than equally good access. Its a rather bizarre concept. Even if you can afford better health care, you shouldn’t get it because someone else might not be able to afford it. They don’t want to level the playing field they want to destroy it.
Well, looks like the bill will have to wait for now……
