Long time no see – I’ve been on an extended vaca, but all this exciting stimulus news has brought me back to my senses. I’ve been wondering if anyone in the Obama administration has actually heard of fact checks? Seriously folks, it doesn’t take a genius to find out how many teachers are employed in the Northern Chicago area. In fact, you would think that it would behoove the administration to, at the very least get that number (considering it is, well Chicago…) before they release yet another announcement applauding themselves for ’saving’ American jobs. Yes, they seem to have over exaggerated their greatness once again. The new ’stimulus’ success announcement released by the admin claims that the stimulus bill saved 473 teachers’ jobs in one district of N. Chicago, but sadly only 290 teachers actually work in the district. So, exactly which jobs were saved? Clearly none were added. I suppose being off by only about two hundred jobs or so isn’t that bad, maybe I should give Obama a break, but I CAN”T because the numbers were wrong in a number of the districts! Of course the main stream media is faulting the school districts for the error in the numbers (no way the Obama administration could be wrong), and that might be fair, but everyone knows you have to check your facts – it’s a basic rule of reporting. C’mon people, please when are you going to realize that this administration is no different than any other, they lie when it’s necessary to make them look good.
Of course, the real question here though is does the stimulus actually ’save’ jobs because I have not heard that any of these jobs were actually in danger of being lost…… Where I live very few, if any jobs have actually been saved, the government has merely supplied more work for those people already employed and they are all employed by the government. Now, considering that the majority of the jobs lost have been in the private sector, what good does that do the average unemployed Joe? Of course the irony is that the news of Chicago’s ’saved’ jobs comes at virtually the same time as the announcement that over 190,000 jobs were lost in just the last month.
Seems like the only place to find a real job these days is at the Unemployment Office – no, seriously.
