In a massive betrayal of the American people, the House has passed the most controversial and costly bill in American history. With the strike of a gavel the Democratic led House willingly ignored the pleas of the majority of the American public in order to ‘make history’. The extent of the damage this bill will do to the American economy and American health care system remains to be seen, but the damage a multitude of Democrats did to their careers will be evident soon enough. For several months now Americans from every political party have been pleading with politicians to not pass this bill, they said that if the bill passes, then those people who voted for it will not be in office after this term – I hope America holds to that promise. It is inexcusable that in this so-called democracy, our elected officials have chosen to ignore the will of the people. It is time Americans stood up against this sort of abuse of our system and turned out those who have willfully chosen to betray it. And yes, it is OUR system.  

Frighteningly evident too is the obvious lack of understanding of what a free society truly is that many of those campaigning for this bill showed. There seems to be a bizarre consensus among that crowd that the government should indeed take care of us and that we are not responsible for anything that we do. It is a terrible shame as well as a brilliant reflection on the governments idea of a school system that the people of the greatest nation in the world have no idea of what this system is really about. I am deeply saddened at the ignorance and sloth that seems to pervade a large portion of this country. However, we can choose to fix this problem if we want to. We can turn out EVERY politician that betrays the American people, we can educate those who don’t seem to understand the real meaning of freedom. We can take back this great government for Americans, instead of letting this nation slide into the mediocrity that is pervasive in Europe.
